Information for 8th Graders

The end of the school year is right around the corner and will be here before we know it! This year, all eligible 8th grade students will have the opportunity to attend upcoming celebrations if the following criteria has been met by the student:

  • Discipline/Behavior: Students receiving discipline referrals during the dates of May 16−the end of the year may lose end of the year activities as a consequence as determined by administration.

  • Academic Success: If students have an E in any class during the 4th quarter when checked on May 31, 2022, they may be ineligible to attend.

  • Excessive Absences: Students with excessive absences will not be permitted to attend activities as decided by administration.

  • School Debts: All debts must be cleared before attending activities.


  1. Will be held on Friday, June 3 from 6-8 p.m. in the PPMS gym.
  2. Food and Drinks will be provided at the dance.
  3. Students will be charged $5 for entry (information for purchasing tickets will be sent home on Monday, 5/16).
  4. Students must be present at school for at least half day on June 3, 2022 to attend the dance.
  5. This dance is only open to PPMS 8th grade students, no guests will be allowed.
  6. We want to remind students about dress code. Please see our expectations below:
    • Shirts and dresses should have straps (no sleeveless, but spaghetti straps are fine)
    • All midriffs should be covered
    • Dresses/bottoms should extend to the fingertips

Awards Ceremony

  1. Will be held on Tuesday, June 14.
  2. This will be held at the Mary Harrison Center (NHS) from 6-8 p.m. Each student will receive 5 tickets.

Picnic/Field Day

  1. Will be held on Wednesday, June 15 beginning at 12:45 p.m.
  2. Food and drinks will be provided for the students.
  3. Students must be present at school on June 15 to attend the Picnic.
